Thai Yoga Massage

Thai Yoga Massage is a traditional sacred healing art whose beginnings can be traced back over 2000 years to the time of the Buddha. This ancient form of bodywork incorporates elements of Hatha Yoga, Ayerveda and Buddhism. Practiced for centuries across Thailand, Thai Yoga Massage is currently one of the fastest growing types of bodywork in the West.

Thai Yoga Massage vs Western Massage

Thai Yoga Massage is like having yoga done to you. Each session combines assisted Hatha Yoga stretches, rhythmic massage and acupressure along energy meridian lines. No oil or massage table is used. The session takes place on a futon-like pad on the floor and the recipient remains fully clothed.

Health Benefits of Thai Yoga Massage

The goal of each session is to open and release blocked areas along the energy lines to bring balance back to the body. Recipients feel calm, balanced, energetic and free from pain and stiffness. Thai Yoga Massage is the perfect accompaniment to most exercise programs and can be done on people of all ages. Recipients may experience the following:

  • Increased flexibility and range-of-motion
  • Relief from stress and tension
  • Relief from pain & stiffness
  • Increased blood and lymph flow
  • Toning of internal organs
  • Improved circulation
  • Overall sense of health and well-being
