Pediatric Symptoms
Thrush
Thrush is a yeast infection that occurs in the mouths of newborns. It looks like a white, curd-like coating of the tongue and inside the cheeks, which cannot be washed off. Thrush can also present as diaper rash.
Here are some things that you can do:
- Nursing mothers should eliminate dairy, sugar and high fructose corn syrup (specific food testing can be done by your chiropractor).
- Eliminate (or change formula) dairy, sugar and high fructose corn syrup.
- Nursing mothers can take extra probiotics (“good bacteria” - acidophilus and lactobacillus).
- Probiotics can be added to bottles.
- Nursing mothers should stop oral contraceptive use.
- Eliminate antibiotics in the child or nursing mother if possible.
- Pau D’arco tea can be made in dilute form and swished around in the mouth.
- Soak bottle nipples and pacifiers in boiling water daily.
- Calendula ointment applied to bottoms for diaper rash relief.
- Chiropractic and cranial adjustments help restore proper function and boost your child’s immune system.
